1.8 Kindergarten Entry Assessment Survey (Nevada)

If your student is entering Kindergarten, you'll need to fill out the Kindergarten Entry Assessment (KEA) survey toward the beginning of the year. 

The KEA gives your child’s teacher an opportunity to learn more about the skills and development your child is demonstrating.

We’ve designed this process to be simple for families and to reflect the learning you are already seeing at home.

Most questions on the survey are quick checkboxes.

To make this as easy as possible for your family, your student won't have to submit a learning log during the week that you fill out the KEA. Our team will take care of the learning log for you.

Sharing Evidence

The examples throughout the form are designed to help your family share authentic evidence with your child’s teacher. You do not need to use the exact suggested activities. Similar examples from your child’s regular learning and everyday experiences are welcome.

When sharing additional details, it can be helpful to include what your child did or said, what activity was taking place, what they were able to do independently, and any directions, reminders, or support they received.

Your child’s licensed teacher will review the information you provide, gather supplemental evidence when needed, and determine and submit your child’s final Teaching Strategies GOLD ratings.
