4.1 High School Overview (Utah, Grades 9-12)

If your OpenEd student is in grades 9-12, they have the ability to participate in a flexible high school experience!

Within the OpenEd high school program, your student will not earn a state-certified diploma. 

What this means for your student:

• They'll have more curriculum options than students on a traditional pathway. Students can choose from any of the options available in our marketplace.
• They'll receive an OpenEd Certificate of Completion at the end of their senior year, representing all of their hard work and academic achievements.
• They can still get into a great college. We recommend reaching out to any colleges that your student is considering to ask whether they will accept students who don't have a formal high school transcript.
  • Most higher education institutions will provide a way, whether by reviewing a portfolio of work, requiring a high ACT or SAT score, or asking for a transcript of any early college credits earned by your student.
