4.6 ACT / SAT Information (Utah, Grades 9-12)

Below, please find a list of helpful resources for those preparing to take the ACT or SAT. In the marketplace, all Utah students can request free access to Shmoop and Study Island, two excellent sources of ACT test prep materials.

IXL is also available through our marketplace.

How to register for the ACT:

Students in 11th grade can take one free (state-funded) ACT. This test takes place in the Spring; we'll send you information ahead of time.

You can also sign up and pay to take the test through act.org. Parents are responsible for the cost of the test, but you can submit for reimbursement through OpenEd (click here for info on how to submit for reimbursement).

How to sign up for the SAT:

You can sign up and pay to take the test through collegeboard.org. Parents are responsible for the cost of the test, but you can submit for reimbursement through OpenEd.

AP Exams:

OpenEd does not administer AP Exams. If your student is interested in taking an AP Exam, you will need to work through the AP College Board and a local high school offering that particular AP Exam.
