The mCLASS Texas edition, powered by DIBELS, screens students for dyslexia and monitors their progress toward grade-level proficiency in reading.

A: Texas students in grades K-2 take the mCLASS screener.

A: This screener is administered twice a year in the Fall and Winter. 

Q: Is this screener virtual or in-person? 

A: This screener is administered virtually. 

Q: How do I schedule this assessment? 

A: Scheduling will be available directly through the Assessments tab of your OpenEd platform!

Q: What is the participation expectation for this assessment? 

A: OpenEd students are expected to participate in the mCLASS screener, but you can elect not to participate through the Assessments tab of your OpenEd platform.
