6.3 STAAR Assessments (Texas)

STAAR is Texas's state testing program and is based on state curriculum standards in core subjects.

STAAR tests are designed to measure what students are learning in each grade and whether or not they are ready for the next grade.

Q: Which students take the STAAR assessments? 

A: OpenEd Texas students in grades 3-8 take the STAAR for Reading Language Arts and Math.

Students in grades and will also take the STAAR for Science.

Students in 8th grade will also take the STAAR for Social Studies

A: The STAAR is administered once a year in the Spring

A: This assessment is administered in-person
